| ...there
have been a handful of bands that hit the music scene with such
a significant impact that it shifts into a completely different
direction. Much like its SoCal based predecessors, Incubus and the
Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Los Angeles based band, DEEPDOWN, evenly
combines the captivating qualities of instrumental expertise with
an all-out emotional explosion. This stand out feature has enabled
the band to steadily expand its existing fan base, as well as walk
away with first place in the national Hard Rock Café Battle
of the Bands competition for the entire Southern California region.
In addition to its significant local success, the band also received
a resounding response at both the SXSW Music Festival in Austin,
Texas and the NXNW Music Festival in Portland, Oregon. Casting its
musical net beyond the greater Los Angeles area, Deepdown has also
been busy building its buzz across the west coast in a variety of
popular music markets.
In
2004, DEEPDOWN independently released its debut album, entitled
Insideout, to a growing group of fans. Encompassing the full-range
of the DEEPDOWN musical experience, the album runs the gamut from
commercially constructed rock numbers to brooding eruptions of
musical mastery and lyrical substance. The first single from the
album, entitled “Nothing’s Real”, was released
to an abundance of hard rock radio stations and immediately began
receiving ads throughout the United States. Further contributing
to its mainstream marketability, DEEPDOWN released a video for
“Nothing’s Real” which showcases the band’s
blistering live performance as well as the emotional impact that
it has on its die hard fans. Upon its initial release, the video
debuted at #5 Rock/Alternative on the CVC Report, and the radio
single continues to be added to radio playlists across the country.
With
the widespread acceptance of its invigorating new sound and its
popularity continuing to grow in the local rock community, DEEPDOWN
has become one of the most promising hard rock bands of the new
Millennium. As the band marches into the new year, it is back
in the studio with producers Phil Gough and Aaron Lepley (Eminem,
Filter) to put the finishing touches on a brand new full length
record. The collection of catchy songs showcases the continuing
evolution of this modern rock megaband.
